EYES OF FIRE Confirm Album Title
July 11, 2005Orange County-based quintet EYES OF FIRE have confirmed that they have set "Prisons" as the title of their upcoming sophomore album, tentatively due October 4 via Century Media Records (as first reported by BLABBERMOUTH.NET on June 28). The follow-up to last year's "Ashes to Embers" was produced by the band and mixed by Matt Bayles (MASTODON, ISIS, NORMA JEAN). The drums and bass were tracked at the legendary Grandmaster Recorders (TOOL, NINE INCH NAILS, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) in Hollywood. Additional tracking was done in the group's studio in Santa Ana and the record was mixed at For The Record (18 VISIONS, THROWDOWN, DEATH BY STEREO) in Orange. The first 5,000 copies will include a slipcase and a special bonus CD featuring one song, entitled "Home", clocking in at just under 25 minutes. Check out unmastered versions of the new tracks "Blood (This Consumes You)" (mp3) and "It All Dies Today" (mp3).
In other news, EYES OF FIRE have announced that their tour that was scheduled for August-September has been cancelled. "EYES OF FIRE received the news just this week and are incredibly sorry this has happened," the groups write on their web site. "The cancellation was beyond the band's control. EYES OF FIRE are now working on another tour for the moment for the month of September. More to come when more is known."
